Considering the current climate crisis our Earth is experiencing, the question of what happens to an object after it leaves my possession becomes prominent in my mind. I question how our society creates a hierarchy of people over our limited amount of natural resources. I make use of materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill or at the bottom of a recycling bin. The various materials in my works tell the stories of their experiences via the forms and shapes they transition into as the elements shift due to my processing of them. The effects of these metamorphoses exert a force much heavier than I am capable of, revealing gestures that I, as a person, am not strong enough to communicate and execute. Any previous hierarchy disappears when the materials are given the chance to speak, as opposed to us speaking through them.
